Jacob Cooley had ordered his helpers to create an ark for their first child. Unhappy with the result, the guy hit his assistant's back and he eventually died. Promising to avenge death, other comrades passed dry owl blood on their chests and a man calling himself an exorcist eventually cursed the boys' breasts.
Some time later, a total of seventeen deaths were attributed to the cursed region. The sons of Cooley also died for the same cause.
