Faces

Bélmez Faces is a supposed paranormal phenomenon that happened in Spain in a private house in the town of Bélmez (Bélmez de la Moraleda) in 1971, where residents said faces appeared on the concrete floor in the house. The images have since appeared and disappeared by then.

For parapsychologists, this phenomenon is considered the best-documented on gender and "undoubtedly the most important paranormal phenomenon of the twentieth century."

Some residents of Bélmez believe that this phenomenon was not created by "human hands", however, some researchers considered the hypothesis of being a phenomenon of spiritist photography, unconsciously caused by the owner of the house, María Gómez Cámara.

For skeptical researchers, this event is nothing more than a mere falsification. Since the faces of Bélmez were affixed in the house, in the cement lime, the scientists were able to analyze the molecular changes, which took place in such concrete mass. Skeptics have carried out extensive analyzes on faces, trying to demonstrate that falsifiability has been involved in this phenomenon.

History

The history of the city Bélmez was marked for ever on August 23, 1971. At number 5, in the Rua Real, of Dona Maria Rodriguez Acosta, they were amazed, they discovered a "sphinx" in the fireplace of their kitchen. Scared and screaming, she warned all her neighbors, who came across as a strange face, who had clearly appeared on the floor.

For weeks, she tried to blow it off with bleach, but she could not. They tried, too, to excavate their faces, but they continued to appear in other compartments of the house six days later.

The owner of the house, Maria Gomez Camara, 85, died in November 2004, and since then, and until now, countless faces and images have appeared.
